During the Covid-19 closure, some of our Prelude students opted to participate in a remote recording project, learning and recording the Kookaburra Round. Prelude is Elemental Music's beginning string ensemble for students in grades 3 and 4, no experience required. It's no easy task to listen to a metronome in your ear, line up your rhythm and pitch with others remotely, and make a great recording! Bravo, Prelude!

Elemental Band performs When Robots Rule the World by Timothy Loest. The students had so much fun putting this piece together, especially because it featured SAMOHI Band Director Kevin McKeown as special guest narrator in the role of Robot!

The Elemental Strings Chamber Orchestra blew us away with their performance of the Finale from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 (arr. Richard Meyer). It's hard to believe that there are only 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in this ensemble!
Academy Philharmonic performed Promenade & The Great Gate of Kiev (from "Pictures at an Exhibition") by M. Mussorgsky, arr. D. Walter in their June 2018 concert. The students loved learning about this iconic piece of music!
